Hi everyone, i have been driving my zook around for about 2 weeks now, and i was wondering if there was a lack of power somewhere, because it would die up medium grade boggy hills with FULL throttle applied :( .

Any Way i pulled my intake pipe off, and looky looky what i found :D :

As you can see from the pic above the throttle (Pic was taken with throttle pedal fully depressed to floor), was Not opening to 100%, it was more like 65-70%. That there was my problem, with the lack of power.

This is what it should look like @ 100% throttle:

So if you have done a G16B conversion please check that the throttle cable has been set correctly. Otherwise you might be missing out on a few Horse Power. :helloo:

I have taken it for a spin and FARKIN hell watch out, i'll be overtaking V8's with all this power. Not really but i can def feel the power increase.

Cheers

Conrad

I just wish people would do things properly from the start.

haha, that's a ripper performance upgrade!!! i've seen so many cars over the years with carby swaps or engine swaps that weren't receiving 99.9% throttle.

is that why stockman sold it, did all that work & it was still gutless?

Ya know weber conversions are one of the worst for this because they need more throttle travel to achieve 100% throttle opening.

Most people don't know that there is a bolt underneath the stock Suzuki Sierra throttle pedal that stops it from going all the way to the floor. I have had a lot of guys come to me with the Samurai swaps not getting the go they expect out of their new weber, or EFI swap.

I look under the pedal, pull the bolts.and *poof* it's all better.

On the flip side of that, if you have too much pedal you can over extend the throttle arm on the weber's and wear out their throttle shafts causing a major unfix-able air leak.

So you have to be careful that the throttle cable doesn't pull too far whether you are running a carby, a CV, SU , or fuel injection. 'cause you can go too far with the throttle armsup
