I keep running across problems I don't remember having when I did this conversion last time!

The problem I am having now is the accelerator pedal doesn't have enough throw to open the throttle all the way. I have fiddled with all the adjustments and it's just not happening. I even put a 5mm spacer in behind the accel. pedal for a bit more throw, but that isn't enough either. I'm now thinking about spacing it out even further, or modifying the location of the pedal's fulcrum so that I get enough throw.

Other ideas/comments?

adapt a bigger pivot onto the throttle body end. mab the one off the 1.3 carb

add some length to the cable side of the accel pedal for more pull?

Hey that's not a bad idea, i'll have a look at the g13 carb and see what it's like. Thanks!

That's kinda what I had in mind, but I think it would put the ball joint above where the hole is in the firewall. I hadn't thought of that though, i'll keep it in mind for sure.

I made up one more 5mm spacer and put that in, and it has made a difference. I don't think I have 100% WOT just yet though, so i'll keep fiddling.

I did take it for a spin though, and nothing fell off or broke so that's something at least!

For my Baleno motor, I just used the Baleno cable.

The end on the cable was different to the end on the sierra pedal but i just made alittle bracket to suit :)

I'm using the cable off the X-90, the Sierra one wont fit as it has to go around the the passenger side of the manifold.

I had a look a the cable pivot from the G16 throttle body and compared it to the one from the G13 carb. They are certainly different in diameter which will be why I am having problems with cable throw. Unfortunately the G13 one wont fit straight on, as that part also has the idle stop and WOT stop as part of it. I could cut them both up and make something that works from them both, but considering i'm pretty close with how it's setup at the moment I don't really want to destroy what I have.

Another thing that is interesting is the pivot on the G13 carb is a constant diameter (eg, circular) where as the G16 throttle body is not. Another reason to keep the G16 part as it is.

I'll extend the top of the pedal slightly and see how much difference that makes.
