Hi guys,

Just wondering if someone could weld a bolt onto my diff filler plug so I can get it off.

Any help would be appreciated.

yep, got a plastic washer behind it that makes em stick so melting it will make it loose

One more thing to try before welding - grind down a 3/8 extension or something- (best is probably a 1/2to 3/8" adapter) so it has a nice sharp end and belt that in and give it a go.

It's worked for me. The square drive ends often get screwed up when mechanics shove rattle guns in them to undo them. Rattle guns have extended snouts that stop the square drive fully engaging.

Just something to have a go at. It's worked for me in the past.

I have the 10mm square bit and that didn't work. I'll try heating it up and hammering in the bit and see if that works tomorrow.

Do the fill plugs need to be on tight?

Tight but not that tight, some people just go stupid on them.

the gearbox and transfer ones were easy to get out. I'm guess because the socket is deeper so you can get more leverage.

The front diff was easy as well, but when I got to the rear diff, it was stuck.

Lucky I didn't crack the drain plug before the filler plug.

You can get them from Suzistore as well. I'm going to see if the local Suzuki shop has some, otherwise i'll get them from Suzistore.

put anti seize on them or teflon tape before you reinstall and its all good next time

iv had a mechanic creack the housing on my old skyline he did it so tight (was the bolt type)
