hi there, has anyone ever tryed the maxxis trepador, im looking at them in a 31/10.5/15 to go on my 87 sierra soft top, what would i need to go with them, the guy sed he can get me rims with neg 11 offset to push them away from anything that may rub, but im not sure if that will be enuf, im gessing reduction gears would be needed (its a 1.0ltr) but not sure of what ratio to go, in the future im planing on a 1.6 conversion, a 2'' lift will be fitted with the tyres

if there going to be a 15x8 neg 11 that should be alright i think, u will need to modifie your bumper mounts and will need more then just 2 inch lift,
gearing in those isnt to bad, just motors lack power, as far as im aware

For a 1lt u will have to swap in a 1.3 transfer case for the gears
A 15x8 rim with idea offset
Not sure if you could fit 31 on stock height unless you get the grinder out haha

for 31s your going to need , 2 inch lift, bumpstops and a grinder.

grinder on the buper mounts on the front and probably the bumper. and the hammer for the seams.

2 inch bumpstops,

Virtual lift= Cutting guards. What's required to run 31's on a sierra gets covered about every 45 minutes on here. Another thread about it should be starting about...........................................now.

31's= 2" body lift and some guard clearancing. Maybe wheel spacers on a NT if you start playing with added wheel travel.

Radial treps are nothing special. Bias treps are cool, but they start at 37"

A virtual lift is where you chop the wheel arches/guards so as to get bigger tyres underneath, fair bit of work, but keeps the COG lower than with a body lift.

Depends on lots of factors - wheel offset, actual tyre diameter, spring and shock configuration, bumpstop length... There's no hard and fast rule.

2 inch spring lift, then virtual lift will prob be enough, unless u want some massive flex or something

I seen a WT the other day that had, no lift, flat springs running 31's with no rubbing and i could not see and cutting been done either...i think it was just resting on the bump stops...

hmmm maybe i should by them and see, cant hurt, the rim to go with them was a 15x7 i was told it is fine witha 31/10.5/15

i work at a tyre shop and we are actualy kumho dealers, i was thinking of going the kl71 but i rang up maxxis today and i can get maxxis dirt cheep on a special deal, what makes the kumho's so much better

arons are incredible for a cheap tires
and in my opinion the radial treps arent all that great compared to a non directional tires

i own both km2 and kl71.... thus far the kl71 grip better on the road (wet and dry) and on rocks - i'm dying to test both in mud now!

KM2 cheapest quote i had was $320 fitted (didnt pay that though).
KL71 i got for $190 fitted.

me mate has kl71s on his 75 ser cruiser and hes was saying they gripped well in the rocks at mundaring power lines
