as above I need a 1.6 starter to suit a 16v 1.6 in good knick.

Mate, these are two poll starters, I would not touch a second hand unit with a ten foot barge poll, except in the most dire of circumstances, they are only about 220 new.

If you can pull them apart before buying, and inspect the brushes, ok, if not, new.
