If your planning to put aftermarket gears in, I recon there would be plenty of guys on here that would swap you their 1.3L t/f case for your 1L case. In fact I've got a spare 1.3L case sitting in the shed that I will swap you if you want.

Zukmeister, I just spotted your from NZ, I'm in Auckland for the next wk, over for a family wedding. I know whangarei quite well too, coz we go camping at whananaki every year between Xmas and Auckland anniversary wk end

I went for 2in along with 2in springs, which clears my 31's nicely and means I have the option of going to 33's in the future if I want. I got my 6.5 gears, body lift and Spartan locker when the dollar first hit 1:1, and got the whole lot cheaper delivered than I could get just the gears for over here. So now is definately the time to be buying stuff from the states

ok 2'' it is then, why did you go 6.5 gears tho, on the lowrange 4x4 site its little table says for 31s you should run 4.9 or 5.14, not critisizing you decision just want to no if there is a benefit to it, cos thats something i need to decied on, gear ratios?, im new to the 4wd side on things, if you asked me how to mod you v8 commodore i could probly tell you all you need to now but i dont realy now what works with what on these zooks, another question is what offset rim is good for my application, i can get neg 6 offset 15x7'' rims for 44 buck so thats what im looking at but is neg 6 enuf (to go with 31'' trepadors)

I got 6.5's coz they were heaps cheaper than the other gear ratio sets at the time, plus like I said they will allow me to run 33's in the future if I choose.

Never had any issues running 31's on 6.5 gears so far.

The other ratios will be fine if you are planning to stick with 31's, but you may be a bit limited if you decide to go bigger in the future.

I am using 15x8 kings rims with -ve 24 offset for my 31's and have never had any issues with rubbing on my current set up
