I've managed to crack my first 1.3L transfer case :(
Any one got any good suggestions of local wreckers etc. that are worth asking?
I don't mind paying postage from over east but its not the best sized item to get posted; also if anyone knows a good postage company worth getting a quote off would be appreciated.

Cheers

8O I was looking for a w/t case for my jimny, didn't really look to hard, but anyway, i think the w/t cases are becoming rarer, your best bet would to try suzistore or suzukishop...

Was during a 6.5 rebuild - long story short, I learnt the hard way

Cheers, I've tried them both... good guys, just a little pricey, might come down to getting 1 from over East just going to look local for a week

during the re build, all finished up 3 bolts to go and by the looks of it my mate tightened them too hard, because everything lined up
doesnt make too much sense, wish I was the 1 tightening them now to have known what pushed it over the edge

2 words - torque wrench

Wrong length bolts in those holes?? If the thread doesnt slip its just going to push on the case.

goldy, read here: http://www.auszookers.com/index.php?nam ... cked+tcase

basically if the case is cracking you've either overtightened something or your mounts are too stiff transferring the load to the case. Either way it shouldnt ever crack the case.

oh yeah - and if you're running a roctoy ring, dont forget the holes arent all in line and flat like the ring is - you need some washers as spacers in some of the holes (hold the ring over the case and you'll see what i mean).

Suzishop. I hear they are dodgy. I have used them for a Crank pulley and it works fine ;)

Cheers for the replies
I'm going to slowly put the cracked case back together to see if I can find the cause, bolts, alignment or what not before I do the next 1 to avoid a repeat. Will update on where it went wrong.

P.S. I'm still looking for a Transfer Case, depending on how some of the pm replies go.

Yeah....i definatelly agree that they are abit of a ripoff
I asked for a set of GTi seats and he wanted to charge....$300 EACH (not for the pair). I could get aftermarket seats for that brand new and he was like go for it....so i picked up a SET from here for $150 which were like brand new

In saying that, there aren't too many places that you can get Suzuki stuff here in WA so if/when you need something you're abit stuck for options
