Hey Guys!

The sils on my Vitara are looking a bit arrrrrrrgh Bumpy.

I definately need some sliders. I would love to make my own but I've no idea!

Anyone got plans of their sliders? Any good tutorials? Anyone wanna help

mate sliders are pretty easy

what sorta are you after chassis mounted or body mounted

for body mounted im a big fan of something like christover1 ones he has on his lwb for chassis mount i like mine but im biased they are pretty simple and strong

What's the best style? Should I go cheap or get a good one? Know anyone would would lend me a bender?

After chassis mounted really. Mainly for strength and ease of fitting.

mate will you need a bender could use weld in bends i used a cheap bender to make mine and it worked

Yep any cheap tube bender will work, no worries swifty_ano your welcome to take measurerments.

I like those sliders. Really simple design yet look nice and sturdy and look right at home. Good job. Gives some ideas for my zook

Has anyone ever ran a plate from c mount to c mount. Mainly to protect chassis rails from damage ?

I have well and truly given the slider a work out and they haven't bent yet, they have come up and bent the lip on the sill slightly but flex back.

My lord shandy. They are as lumpy as my brail nipples.
As long as your chassis doesn't look like that too haha

ahah nah my chassis is fine, i have taken that rough coating off in some areas but no dents or anything. you should see my muffler lol

Nothing yet. Still deciding whether to get some made (by you) or making my own.
I wanna make my own and I'm sure I can. Just dont wanna fork out heaps for a bender. (I hear the cheap dies suck)

I have a cheap bender, works alright as long as you use heavy wall pipe...

Just to throw something a little different into the discussion - here are the abominations currently hanging off my chassis:




They are a bit ummmm... agricultural... but they fulfill the basic purpose of protecting my sills. Originally off a GV I added the flat bar that runs along under the rail, and the altered mounting arrangement (see now redundant lower bolt holes) conveniently matched the body lift almost perfectly. Main benefit of course is no bending required, and cutting/welding SHS/RHS is so much simpler for a hack like me than dealing with curves

They are definitely still a work in progress - when I get the car and my tools in the same state again (September at the earliest ) I will be hacking them up into v2 - incorporate steps, and mount brush bars from them up to the bullbar. Probably also go the other way to the rear bar that is on the wishlist... either TSOR (hint hint!) or custom/homemade/hack job I'll do myself.
