Ive got a N70 in mine, pretty easy to fit in. And has enough power to run everything with a dead alt for some time. Only downside is the weight of it.

Yes turn it 180, so battery terminals are towards the engine, quick turn it around, turn it around !!!
1cm Jeez... the battery could easily jump up that much when 4wheelin, and that bike tube rubber, is wayyyyy to thin !... get some reinforced rubber sheet, much thicker and stronger...

I dont know what the Optima batteries are like for vibration resistance, as it can kill an ordinary battery very quickly... but i would get a battery that is built for 4x4/Marine use, built tougher for vibration, if you go 4wheelin alot...

Its a N70ZZL, 660CC, 140RC. 300L x 170w x 230h. Has more than 25mm to the bonnet depending on the terminal size, and with the new clamp is used it aint going to fall out.

haha dont worry i havent been driving with it like that. i only put it there to test how it fits, i still have the standard size sierra terminals so i couldnt even if i wanted to... but the last supercharged brand battery i had lasted quite well, and i get them cheap-ish... plus they have a 36 month warranty.
i'll attach some kind of thick rubber to the bonnet above the battery.

My battery died soon after i bought my GV thankfully a local Auto store was havin a battery sale, got a Supercharge, maintenance free, 520CCA, Silver, for $100, was a bargain i thought, and yes, they do have the 36month warranty...

Just make sure it is tied in good and well, bungee's don't count armsup

I know it shouldn't have to be said, but I have seen two rigs now catch fire due to a lack of tie downs, or a broken bungee cord.

Iffen' ya battery gets drained down almost to nothing, it may be hard on the alternator as well. It depends o how much of a charge that battery will take when it's near flat.

So if ya batter is flat, don;t rev up the engine too much until the battery has got a bit of a charge in it.
