We all need more room for more parts. :P

After 30 + years of zinging around a good bottom end would be hard to find. Rebuild what you have is probably going to be the best bet.

This is currently on e-bay, but although the cylinder casting says LJ50, this didn't come out of an LJ50 4x4. It is a late production low pollution model without the oil feed to the cylinders, as discussed on page 2 of the LJ tech and picture thread. The inlet manifold and carby is of the Carry style, and the transfer case attached to the gearbox is definately not LJ, probably a 4x4 Carry, but I didn't think these were availble in the 2 stroke, only F5A efi??

Anyway, if it is tested as claimed to be, the engine itself will fit into a late LJ50 (Bellhousing bolt pattern changed between late '74/early '76) if you use your LJ50 inlet manifold and carb. Probably cheaper than a crank rebuild!

Do you know what the gearbox is that it has bolted on in the picture?
