hey guys bought my jimny last year got a great deal on it and now i have started the parts list
im looknig at a superior engineering 80mm lift heavy duty
50mm coil spacers
extended brake lines
and i eventually want to put 31"s on it
there will be lockers front and back plus all the good protection needed eventually
i just recently took it out to menai with my mates who are all driving midified hiluxes and the jimny went everywhere they went while she was stock as so i was very impressed..
i do have one question i hope someone can answer has anyone else put 31"s on and if so was the speedo out??
i used to own a 98 coily sierra and did the same mods and its speedo was out
if some one knos the answer give me a shout
cheers alex

i got 30's on mine with the tough dog lift and the speedo is out about 10ks, so when im doin 60 on the speedo acctually doing 70. you will need to do alot of gaurd chopping to fit 31's on it, my 30s needed a bit.

you will need to trim all the metal from under the plastic flares, and also on the bottom of the wheel arch on the cab side to let the wheels turn freely without hitting anything.
you will deff need reduction gears to turn 31's. also look at an exhaust to get more power, will help as well.

You can body lift the jimny's have g-force and impact airbag sensors so you can body lift.
You are better of getting the 80mm lift and just go the body lift and not mess about with spaces/
Also here's a good website, with noce prices to
http://www.4wd1.com/Jimny-Suspension.htm

im running 31s, thinking of going bigger but not for a while,
running the tough dog 80mm lift, a 2 inch body lift, have moved the diff forward 12mm and cut a fair amount out of the guards, also running 15mm coil spacers in the front to aid with the wait of the winch and dual batteries,
we only moved the diff forward and put the coil spacers in because when it gets jumped or we have to hit sand dunes at speed they hit on the floor,
so if its just used for crawling around then shouldn need to worie about that

did you get reduction gears??
id rather do the coil spacers then the body lift, can you see any noticeable difference since you chopped the guards or dose it still look stock??

There's no need for 130mm of lift to run 31's. Jimny suspension doesn't work properly with this much lift. (I don't think it works properly with 80mm of lift, but that's just me)
Steve.

In what way? I do agree with you on that a bit.
I'm interested to know!
