2 things.

1.... It hold the back of the gearbox up, and

2.... It acts as a 'brace' between the left and the right chassis rails. :wink:

it is a piece of metal that goes from one frame rail to the other and supports the gearbox, as well as holding the transmission mount, and stiffening the frame rails laterally

ok so what do you mean when you say that you cut it off/ cut it down so that it doesn't snag on anything?

dave91, this gives you an idea where everything sits.. Basiclly get everything higher than the bottom of the chassis rail is what people try and do..
