White smoke is usually a sign of oil burning in the bore. I.E rings could be on the way out

thats blue smoke... white smoke should just be evaporation in the exhaust, however if it still does it once the engine is warmed up fully then you might have a leaky head gasket.

Really no such thing as white smoke from an exhaust, its steam, as above stated, gasket or head.

Have a squiz at the oil filer cap, inside, is it a milky slush ?

Are you topping up the radiator at all ?

I does not need much water to make your "white smoke"

here we go again, same people, same responses

think about changing your oil if its due and using something good quality

If its only on cold start up and not after going down a big hill or idling for a while dont worry about it too much

white smoke can be oil too. Maby valve stem seals put some oil in and let it sit 4 abit then start it see if it does it then. But if its not all the time i would not stress to much about it.

My V6 Vitara was burning up oil on first startup and surprisingly it was caused by soot in the rocker cover blocking the PCV valve.

Replaced the rocker cover with a clean one and it doesn't smoke any more. $200 inc labour.
