Front: ?
Rear: RD88

What one do we run in the front?

Do i have to change the front side gears and axles? Or is there a front chinasoong locker that will bolt up to the fronts without changing anything?

Please let me know, as , i'm gonna order 2. What site did you use to get them from RUTHLESS?

mate its welll worth it and if you do manage to break the gears arb ones fit straight in and all the switches are arb and scott that works there was very helpfull and tried to help me as much as he could possible

1 day is hardly a test, you could x ray it & see no drama's, but give it a month or 2 driving it hard & let's see how they fair up....

I use 4wd very seldom, an, when I do need it, its coz I have fuked up, badly, 1 or 2 wheels in the air, no drive.

I recon in my application, maybe once a year, or less, perfect.

Gimme articulation every time. lol means I can go faster by crikey.

??? What kind of stuff do you drive? I know they can go quite a ways in 2wd but hell you can only get so far!

That said, I forgot to lock one hub the other day and it wasn't until we got to a really slippery spot that I realised because Anto86 came up to my door and said hey dude, you're not even spinning the front...

Needless to say, locked in that hub and away I went!

I'm pretty sure they're referring to the Suzuki Sierra. In America they were called Samurai's and other other countries they were called Jimny's

I am pretty sure the RD11228 is for a front, with 22 spline axles.
RD88 is for rear with 26 spline axles.

if the info from ARB is anything to go by here are their spec sheets.

RD88

RD118****


however if you are putting a locker in the front, i would recommend an RD88 and some 26 spline Cromoly axles.


****this says it is for the Jimny, but the Ring gear ID and Bolts for the ring gear are the same as Sierra.

Hey Ruthless, Who installed yours?
I am in bris and are you keen on installing it for me with my help and i will also pay you. I am thinking a front one in the Jimny only because i am thinking if there is any doubt in reliability it shoudl go in the front ? because on teh roat its uding the rear all the time so that might wear it out if its a bit low quality? Woudl that be the case? i knwo on teh road the rear would be unocked but the gears are still going around?

funny.....pic shows the new 2 piece design. yet when you purchase one you don't get that.....you get the three piece as shown in the inset pic.

I assume if the gear quality is suspenct even using them unlocked on the road in the rear could prematurely wear or break them right?

Everyone's buying 'Great Wall' Motors where I live. Hell it's the same quality. If many people are willing to take a punt for $25K on an entire vehicle, I'd probably be willing to take a punt on a locking diff. Can't be that bad.
