Do you have power to the coil?

Is it "switching" on the negaitive side??

Were you doing anything when it happened? Driving... Playing with wiring... Installing something

Could be, a dizzy failure. Do you have a multimeter, check the ohms of a working dizzy, and yours.

Its after sundown, I cannot check mine, sorry.

Well I can, but, its dark, an im unable do check.

I've had my fair share of this. Here is my order of tests.

Remove dizzy cap. Turn crank use a 17mm spanner on the crank bolt (clockwise)

1. Rotor turns. Yes - timing belt, cam shaft pulley, dizzy drive all good.

2. Check Halls pickup and ignition module.
Take out rotor.
Position the dizzy shaft so the trigger (4 pointed thingy) is away from the halls pickup.
Remove the two wires from the coil that go to the coil.
Place a multi meter across the 2 wires. Use a low voltage setting.
Poke a screw driver (flat blade )infront of the halls pickup and remove quickly. As you do this the multi meter should read some sort of volts.

If no deflection (no volt reading) the ignition module is Kaput!

The coil is more than likely OK since you have tried 2.

Hope this helps. :)

are you talking about the fusible link from the alternator to the battery like the main cable would that be enough to cause it to short out as i don't have a fusible link in there

dash lights have never played up before until now. but it seem to only be the battery light that won't work but then it won't light up with the test light either

Have you replaced anything, fitted anything lately??

It's not uncommon for the switch to shit, not saying that your problem, but it does power up what you've lost..
