I have two of these and i was keen on putting them in, but i have read somewhere that they have a valve in em, so if you flick the switch without putting you foot on the brake then put your foot on the brake, it feeds more pressure in and holds it there. i just don't know which way they flow...

and because im a genious with electric's i was wondering if this needs relay?

Yes you are right. You can turn it on an leave it on, and the first time you punch the brake it stays on.

I run a relay on mine. I also run two switches on mine - the momentary switch on the gear lever and a normal rocker switch so I can use it as a short term handbrake.

I also run an indicator light loud and proud on the dash.

I wired mine directly off the battery. You don't want the line lock releasing if you turn the key off if you are using it as a handbrake.

mine don't have MC/in written on em, ok cheers guys, and Gwagen, it's cool, i figured as much, no harm done. good point about the direct battery line also.

There's no real need to fit a relay, they only consume about 2 amps, but adding one isn't a bad idea either - there's no disadvantage to running a relay IMHO.
