Hey , My soft top is finally decided to start ripping just behind the left hand side of the passenger pillar...About 100mm rip...
I am thinking of turning it into just a bikini, Or should i just go and buy a full new top?
Im so confused on what styles to pic...There are so many
I like the ute style bikini,wall,toneaucover... But i kinda like the fastbacks too because of the more room for stacking sh!t up etc..
I need it to look olright to go with my taillights(utestyle) and without the cutouts in the canvas so it looks neat because my spare wheel is bolted in my tray anyway...

My utestyle tails
Hmmmmm Decisions Decisions

I like the ute style covers, you can still stuff crap under the back cover. Not a huge fan of fast backs but that's just my stinking opinion

so here it is,have none of it pulled right back as some of the studs were broken, used to just let it sit forward and act as a back wall then i could still just throw things in the back
that price of us ebay sounds the go mate

All my buttons are fine in my softtop now..
My mummy managed to find some buttons for jackets in her sewing gear, that use the same buttons! And the little tool came with it!
As 3 of my buttons were bent out.
Has anyone modded they're old top?
I was goin to turn the front have into a bikini, not hard with new buttons.
Then the rear half maybe use as a backwall run over the top pillar buttoned on the other side,(I'lll sort somethin out) then with the side runners and make use of the triangle windows for my rear window..maybe... as my rear has been slashed
'Spotlight' sell really thin clear vinal too, might be good for rear window..Just for water spray. Not really tough...

There's also a mob on the Gold Coast somewhere as well that does custom made Softops. It's a lady that makes them. Just can't think of the name.

zook_fan, maria cetainly can, just email her with any questions you have, keep in mind she is a busy lady and allow a week or two for a response. give her EXACT details as to what you want to do, I know there was a stage when she had a SWB tub in the factory and could simply follow measurements for custom jobs as required, but things may have changed and its best to find out directly.
If everyone was in agreance to a single top im sure we could work out some way to do a bulk order..
but the problem lies with each persons taste being different. Fast back fan here..

Yeah Bruce, that's Maria, she's in Tamborine. I've bought two bikinis and two fast backs off her so far. I went up to pick up the last set and she even offered to fix my fastback where I'd opened the tail gate with the right hand stud still done up....
I'm sure she'd do a custom for you guys.

does maria do a fast back style that incorporates the bikini top and rear section as a whole rather than the straps going down and the front and rear sections as two halfs? I have emailed her previously, but I think there was a slight issue with the way I explained it as I didnt really get an answer to the question, so just thought you guys might know..
cheers.

Not that I know of. Its probably better to speak to her on the phone otherwise you probably will hit communication problems.

there was a guy competing in a local comp yesterday in a jeep with a tin roof that was not cut to size it hung about 50mm out each side and there was a tight corner in between two trees where he was flying down the gully lined it up right but both sides clipped the trees and it shot off onto the ground. i dont know it must be a jeep thing

So basically, you just want a one piece fast back similar to what i have?
Although mine is a little longer across the roof and has a bow rail attached to help clear the roll bar before it angles down to the back.
