Anyone running Kumho MT 834 tyres? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

Whilst I know they're a "mud tyre"I was curious as to how they perform on beach sand. I was looking at 235-75-15's.

they'd probably be fine so long as you got the pressure right.

one of the perth guys on here has 31" KL71's and drive a TON of beach (and WA beaches are like powder) and he doesnt get stuck.

i have been thinking of going over the "super swamper" in white like the bling ones have in yank land. honetly what cop is going to know there not legal

haha don't ruin your awesome black sidewalls with cruddy white lettering. White letters on the outside is for old people who forgot what brand they got talked into buying.

Those KL 71's were another option I was looking at. Sorta steered away from them due to a review (below) giving them a lower "star" rating on road or sand- the two places I'm most liable to be! But geee they look good The MT 834's got a better review for both surfaces . These will be my daily driving tyres.

i've found online reviews mean nothing when it comes to tyres... it all depends on the exact places you drive. WA sand is way different to east coast sand, and VIC mud is different to NSW mud etc...

my KL71's have better road manners than all the 31's i've run before them (cooper stt, simex ET and BFG KM2) in the wet and the dry.

Hey Alien,

Are your KL 71's your weekend tyres (so to speak) or daily runners? Also, have you found them good on the beach sand? And what pressure you running them on the beach?

I ran the Kumho 834's in 31x105R15's on my Rodeo for a while. Offroad traction was good, onroad was ok considering the tread pattern but was very noisey. They failed to see the 25k mark on the Rodeo and got a heap of flats with them, mainly stone punchers in the tread.

I'm having a heap better run with Maxxis Buckshots thats on there now, will proberly get double the life from them than the Kumho's.

mine are my daily tyres - i go to work and back every day on them as well as racking up some serious speed getting to some tracks around perth (i've got a high speed reading on my gps of 130km/hr).

the KL71 are quiet as - i certainly can't hear them over the engine/exhaust/gearbox/tcase/wind/stereo...

i think most people that have had tread wear issues on them are running larger vehicles... mine have hardly worn even though theyre noticeably softer compound than the KM2. I drive pretty hard on my tyres too (fast corners, hard acceleration and braking).
