hey guys found this unlicenced but ready to go over pits $1800 he wants
i just not sure on if they any good and if i should jack it up and use it off road as my thrasher because it seems to clean and rare what your thoughts It is a 1980 stockmen

i dont no to much about them but. in my opinion
why would u sell a car unlicensed when all it gona cost u to get it licensed is a trip to the pits. so i would suggest there is somthing wrong with it.
when u go look at it. ask him if he has the pits list. if he dosent it means he hasent even tried getting it over and he is only guessing it ready.
also i didnt pay this much for my sierra licensed and running (barely).
but i am far from an expert on them.

here is a basic list of things the pits will look for when they go over the car. (BASIC)

DRIVE LINE
- engine mounts
-condition of all vbelts and hoses
-water, oil or fluid leaks, and levels
-aircleaner is standard and fitted securely
-powersteering
-emissions controlls are intact and functioning (includikng exaust)
-exaust noise, and leaks
-transmittion security and operation
-tail shaft and uni joints
-wheel bearings
-fuel lines

ELECTRICAL
-battery and wiring loom is fitted correctly
-high and low beam headlights working and alingment
-all lights including. all indicators, brake, numberplate and acessories lights
-rear reflectors
-horn
-demister for windscreen
-windscreen wipers and washers
-ignition switch
-IMOBILISER FITTED CORRECTLY

BODY WORK
-floorpan, CHASSIS, door pillers, body work for rust
-body mounts are good
-security of seats and headrests
-seatbelts
-all footpeddal rubers are installed and standard
-all interior trim is installed and fitted correctly
-windows are free of cracks and chips
-all mirrors
-bonnet hinges, and catch
-all windows open where aplies

CHASSIS and Suspension
-cracks and rust free without any bends
-check suspension components and shockies r free of ware

STEERING
- steering is free of ware, missing split pins and steering box/rack security
-steering freeplay
- operating steering lock

BRAKES
-all brake lines are free of deterioration
-brakes arnt modified
-check park brakes
- ensure brake fail light and park brake light are working
-brakes work
- fluid leeks and master cylinder working

TYRES AND RIMS
-check all wheelnuts studs and rims for damage
-rims match on an axel
-check all tyres are free of damage
- ensure tread depth is atleast 1.5mm across enitre width of tire

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION
- engine number is clean and inplace
-chasis number^^
- matches compliance plate^^
- make sure its not stolen

all mods are permitted and applie to current laws.
BULLBAR DOSE NOT. though u may get away with it due to the age of the vehicle but dont bet on it.

That looks way too nice to be butchered or used as a farm hack/off-roader. I'd be tidying it up and registering. You could cut the top part of that bar off and just leave the bumper bit?
