Yes, it's a 1.0lt dash, but it's not an '87. It looks more like an '83 or '84. And it is a Sierra, not a Maruti.

yes, it upsets me as it's people like you that put off the educated suzuki community from posting actual tech on this forum...

so you posted the blokes pics for him, not only gave your opinion but also gave the new bloke the relevant information to make his own descission, made and active effort to help another human being out.

no you chose to do somthing much more usefull. u chose to criticize a 17 year old kid for posting to many times. i may not be an expert like 2stroker or royce. but atleast i TRY to HELP others out.

Thats what i thought. the 87 part and the jesus bar confused me a little tho..as an 87 would be a type 3 1.0 and have the plastic dash like a maruti

Mine is an 87 with the plastic NT dash. Steel dash would have finished up before 85.

yeah its happened a few times. Basicly whenever they start a new model you get imbred bastard versions of both come through.

My S3 1.0L ute had 1.3L rear drums, 1.3L tunnel, 1.0L firewall and master cyl, 1.3L NT dash and lots of other wierd stuff. 88.5 sierras are the same. lots of subtle differences.

That's probably the dictionary definition of a stock Type 3 1.0. Nothing weird there. Ran from late '84 to about mid '87. Best 1.0lt made, unless you're talking Maruti, which is essentially the same without the build quality.

The Marutis only came out from about early '87 in JA trim level. This means they all have the plastic NT dash, without tacho or clock and with vinyl seats and door trims.

The LWB in the pics has a Type 2 dash which finished in late '84 and JX door trims. Also, the "Iceland Blue Metallic" it is painted in was never available as a Maruti colour, only Suzuki NT 1.0/1.3. True, you can repaint a car and change seats and door trims, but the metal dash and plastic dash have different mounting points and supports and get a bit trickier to swap. Is it likely these things have been swapped over to disguise the ID or age of the vehicle?

A pic of the compliance plate or the VIN number will confirm.

Yea just keep your ears and eyes open i admit its a awesome deal and would have snapped it up if i had the cash ATM. Just check that nothing is to hammered on the car ie chassis, too much rust( will be some from age) motor tranny and drivetrain see if the owner will let you drive it if not make them take you for a spin it. Good luck with the buy the lwb look beast IMO
