My g16b conversion is coming along nicely.

got stuck into the wiring the other day and connected most of the plugs on the engine up.

im using my loom that i got back from killa kustom kables

there were a couple that i couldnt find their mates...

here are some pics of the plugs

1. this black one almost at the end of the loom
2wires (green with red strip/ grey withred strip)

2. this yellowish plug
2 wires (brown or orange /grey)

3. these 2 wires. yellow and black. do these go to the crank angle sensor?? (the CAS plug and sensor had been cut from the loom when i bought it)

I also have no idea what these two plugs are for. located on the loom near the plugs for the ECU

4. 4wires (black/ purple with white strip/ purple with yellow strip/ brown with white strip)

5. 3wires (black/ white/ yellow with black strip)

I'd have to go look at mine but

the ones near the ECU are Diagnostics, spare one is normally under the bonnet and the bigger one is for a scan tool

photo 2 might be O2 sensor

Can you list what colour the wires are?

My guess'

1. Temp sensor ( there are a few on the manifold)
2. Power steer. Looks like the wire has been pulled out of the plug.
3. NFI
4. NFI
5. looks like a diagnostic
6. Suzuki? :?
7. pollution control. usually mounts to the back of the intake plenum. looks like 1 is missing too, as there is usually a pair of them on that bracket.

my power steer comes from the guard loom not the engine, though I cant remember if anything more than oil pressure normally loops over the cover like that

I have edited my first post with the wire colours and the number of wires going to the plugs.

Crank angle sensor and the exhaust sensor in the exhaust manifold

all the sensors on the intake manifold all have matching plugs that are connected.

thanks for the help so far, u guys are awesome! i wouldnt be at this stage of the conversion if it wasnt for you

Pretty sure it has to be orange/white. My diagrams say there is no brown.
I think this is the Oxygen Sensor, just have a look at the manifold and see if it is.
If so the white one is what you need. The orange was for a heated oxygen sensor?
I went through the hastle of removing the wire and the wrap or insulation but it took a while.

3. white/black????

Crankshaft position sensor

Did you but just the motor or complete car?

had a look at the exhaust sensor. it does go to that yellow plug. only one wire can go into it, the other 3 holes in the yellow plug are blocked off, and the only one that a wire can go into is the white wire. stockman u are correct :)

as for the crank angle sensor:

i bought the engine and loom from a suzuki wrecker in syd.

the CAS and its plug were left on the engine, separated from the loom.
i didnt realise the plug wasnt on the loom till i got back my custom loom from KKK. the plug was hiding inside the rubber seal on the CAS.

i rang steve from kkk and said he remembered making a loom that didnt have the CAS plug.

im guessing the yellow and black wires do run to it as they are all whats left.

hopefully i have done everything right.

Cheers heaps for all ur help guys. much appreciated :D
