hilux help

Hey guys recently sold my sierra and upgraded to a hilux sr5 85 model
So I thought lol

Well I thought you guys might be able to help
Now its got a lift kit n some body lift bout 2" n 31 roadies on it
And Detroit locker diff
And for some reason the steering is so unbelievably hard when u get to about 100 ks its light but to drive around on the street forget it

And when i engage n lock front hubs i got to absolutly jump on the steering wheel to turn it I can't even bare it iv givin up on going off road it annoys the crap out of me

Is this normal or could there be more to it then meets the eye

Thanks guys hope someone can help me out

It's in the rear so iv been told to be honest I don't know
Could I tell some how
I know rear spins both wheels no problem

And yeah I wish it had power steering would be awesome car

Okay I will look into that not sure what you mean but I do know what steering box is so ill work it out
Any other ideas or guesses while I'm trouble shooting to find the problem

Loosen the adjuster bolt thingo on top.

there is a nut with a bolt on top of the box undo the nut and screw the bolt out maby half a turn then lock the nut back up again

Piss off the J arm and go high steer with a lux ifs ps box or cruiser box.

Don't have much money atm so I'm just trying to find away to fix it for now going to play with the steering box see if that helps

Get a PS steer box from a IFS Hilux, Surf or 4Runner and a crossover steering kit from Superior or Lowrange.

Check out the uni's on the steering shaft too. They might be half seized. I had an 85 lux and the steering was pretty light. If you do go highsteer it used to be cheaper to get arms from Skyracing in the states. I think Lowrange may distribute them now too. They were heaps cheaper but that was near on 10 years ago now. Just make sure you get right hand drive ones. Obviously being the states the majority are left hand drive. At the time it was only sky that would make right hand drive ones for us Aussie's.

TRUE! Shit thanks for the pick up. You want right hand drive arms, not left. I'll edit it in the post.

I put some air in the tyres but not to sure what of should be on the way low bout 17 psi well I think that's low
What's about the pressure they should be on there 31s road tyres ?
I put them to 25 psi is that to hard or soft ? Did make a fair bit of difference

try 30 in the front and if ya dont have anything in the tray, 25 in the rear
