I think this is a little more practical that a Sierra for me. Could take the family camping in it no worries!

I'm pretty sure this shape came with the 2 litre RF diesel overseas. If a front cut was available it'd make for an easier swap?

i found that on the new diesel GV that the exhaust was in a different location so if you were to try the swap you would also have to replace the exhuast / the New GV has same diesel as the old GV so you could check it out at the local car yard

New exhaust is no biggie in the grand scheme of things. I'd be more worried about different chassis between petrol and diesel models.

No, the new GV uses a Renault diesel and the old GV used both the Mazda RF diesel and the Peugeot RHW diesel while the XL-7 got the RHZ The Vits got the same Mazda but a different Peugeot diesel.

ahh now i've gotten that out of the way.......
from day one i said it was not a good idea to go this far....but he was adament...and threw money at me....i won't do it again. we got it passed vic-roads but it cost me grey hairs!

suspension- ome with 60mm alloy billet coil, strut, bumpstop and shock spacers. front arms dropped 50mm, front rack and pinion dropped 50mm.
diffs- stuffed with 5.1 gears and airlockers. front has cast iron housing with custom mounts.
body- 50mm body lift(no air bags) with only the plastic trimmed.
transmission- 5 speed maqnual with one of my modded vit cases feeding into a kicker hilux case(divorced).
engine- was originally a 2.0 litre four pot, but its a crap motor, so we put in an XL7 2.7 v6. goes good now!


seriously, i will never do one of these again as the grands just aren't made to handle those tyres. it would be sooo much better and reliable if it was an auto.
