Finally finished with lifting the GV.

Now a question for the other GV owners out there. What is your measurement to the top of the front wheel arch from the groung and what size tyres do you run. Measure through the middle of the wheel hub to the underside of the wheel arch. (Measure on the passenger side)
see pic for where to measure to.






also how much clearance do you have under the front crossmember. (one next to sump)

After the lift i have
857mm to wheel arch
280 under crossmember
tyres are 225/75/16 maxxis mudders.



Ill try to get a measurement from a stocker so we can compare.

Not quite sure where you measured from... but... on my 01 GV, with 225/70/16 Maxxis Bravo 771 AT's, from the floor to the bottom edge of my flare, 810mm front, 823mm rear, rear would be 10mm higher without my tools and gear in the back... and under body, at the front cross member, i get 230mm...


Edit: Forgot to mention i have a 35mm Suspension lift Kit also...

Measure under body clearance to the FRONT cross member. the one under engine, between front wheels.

Yep thats where i measured from...

What amount of lift have you got to get an extra 50mm bigger than mine ?

Ok from the front cross member, i get 230mm, which is more than the 220mm i thought i had...

Do you have a bodylift? you have less clearance under crossmember but higher guard height.

I would say they are 2in/50mm, with 70 profile tyres.....

Don't think they are that much. Was thinking 30 to 40 mm. My tyres are a bit taller than yours as they are 245's.

Ive got kumho triangles(225/75/16) on there for road and touring and im getting 300mm from top of rim to the bottom of the flare

Ok from the front cross member, i get 230mm, which is more than the 220mm i thought i had...

I have 40mm raised king springs with 20mm spaces to give me a total of 80mm lift but the winch, bar and 2nd battery made it drop a bit. I'm also running dobinson extended struts with cam bolts.. ride is quite firm. Coils might be for an XL7. Can't remember.

on my gv from gaurd to top lip of rim...

front 310mm (25mm spacers, ironman struts)
rear 260mm (40mm springs, 50mm spacers, VT wagon shocks)

that's pretty pointless unless you include your tyre size information, unless it's just a pure pissing contest of who is the tallest.

pretty sure the RTA standard is to measure from bottom rim edge through the centre of the hub to the highest point on the wheel arch, which is known as the "eyebrow height".

Not interested in RTA standard heights. Im interested in the total heights people have and how they have accieved it. And i did ask for tyre size to be mentioned.

thats cool, you might want to tweak the pic with the arrow in it so it shows the measure "from here" point on the ground for the slow ones.

Do it your way and the measurement is impacted by the tire size and the pressure at the time the measurement is made.

If you measure from the lower edge of the rim, through the wheel center to the arch, you will get a measurement that is not affected by these variables - this second way is the method used by ARB & Ironman to get repeatable before & after measurements when installing a lift kit.

02 XL7 with pedders coils ground to lip of flare 780.
The correct way to measure lower inner lip of rim to flare 680.
Top inner lip to flare 255. Running std tyres 235/6016 with reco 26psi.

Rear Ground is 820, lower lip 725 upper lip 300.
Std struts in the front Late mdl long travel dunny door shocks in the back as the std were topped out just sitting.

From std hight the front came up 25mm and the rear 45mm.

Cross member is way to low like most grandys and too dark to measure

WTF are you on about, has AZ become politically correct over night, so you're telling me i can't call it a pissing contest or my wang is bigger than yours?

i'm just stating fact, pretty sure B4T's GV is the tallest i've seen on AZ with out a body lift & i give him credit for it. but i think Mugwui's will be taller as he's running a 2" bodylift, 2" spring lift, 35mm spacers & 31's, do the maths... i'd say he's just pissed on the competition.
