I can jump in on this on satdee, the one i'm getting looks to have a lift in it.
Red springs that i'm thinking is pedders, and iron man shocks.

215mm to cross member.

Thats with ironman 2" lift kit and 225/75/16 BFG a/t tyres.

I did loose some hieght though after i added the bar, winch, and second battery - all up about 110kg

Im thinking of adding spring spacers to get it back up again

Ironman dont make a 2in lift kit for the 99 to 05 GV, as far as i know, only 35mm...

Thats just an idea im toying with as there are not many options with GV's if your struts are too short.
I already have the longer dobinson struts but they are limiting down travel.
If you know of another option i'd like to hear it.

Thats just an idea im toying with as there are not many options with GV's if your struts are too short.
I already have the longer dobinson struts but they are limiting down travel.
If you know of another option i'd like to hear it.

Whats wrong with strut extentions?

Can you flip the top strut mounts? Has that been done on a GV before?

Not sure that would work as the GV have a strut bracethat bolts to the strut top not the strut top mounting holes. that sorta makes sense.

I just measured mine, Front 785mm Rear 805mm with stocko 235/60R16 tyres.
Springs are aftermarket red ones, i'm assuming pedders as they love red.

I saw some plate strut extensions on the net the other day. They supplied a spacer so you could refit the strut brace. I saved the shortcut on my work pc so I will post it up tomorrow. Would prefer those than the screw on strut extensions. But we are limited in options.

Ok just fitted new springs and spacers.
Dobinson springs
Front with 15mm spacer is now 825mm
Rear with 30mm spacer is now 850

Just an update on my GV.

Ive fitted the 245/75R16 Maxxis Bighorns and with the 40mm coils and the 30mm spacer lift i measure from the ground to under side of wheel arch.

front = 860mm

Rear = 865mm


On compression the rear tyre hits the back of the wheel arch where the outer mud flap moulding is attached but only inside the wheel arch.
The front only hits the chasis rail when on full lock.

Gonna wheell it on cup weekend as it is and see how bad it rubbs and then worry about cutting stuff after.
