Hey guys just wondering how much arb air lockers are front and back for a Sierra it if I had to put one in at a time witch would be better to go with front or back

air locker from arb are about $1300 each not fitted. including hardware. plus a one of purchase compressor for about $300. so ur first one would be 1600. and the second would be $1300 for the sierras front and rear are the same price. these prices are what it was at my local store when i priced em a month ago but they can vary a little from store to store depending on how many they have at one time.
weather u put a rear locker in or a front locker in first widely depends on ur style of 4wding, what u drive and how u drive.
personaly i would do a rear first. because if u some how loose drive to ur front diff. u can still efectively have the same 4wd as such. by using your rear locker. (and if it comes down to it removing the drive shaft from the front and u can have lowrange aswell) obviously u could do it the other way aswell for the same reason but IMO ur more likely to have front diff problems than rear. and ur rear is ur permanent drive aswell. pluss it is better without power steering.
there are pros for having one in the front but for a sierra i would do a rear.
if u were driving say a landrcruiser that already had an LSD rear and powersteering a front locker would be a better option

Depending on the supplier, $1200+ per end for parts only. You'll need a compressor also.
Factor in a couple of hundred extra for a professional install.

Personally I prefer to have the rear locked first. But if I was going to the extent of airlockers, I would put it in the front with some chromoly 26spline axles.

yeah that price sounds better i got a quote from MAKETRACKS in midland. they are an arb retailer not an arb store.

REALY recomend going to see a chick called MICHELLE at ARB in Osborne park.
dont get the wrong oppinion she isnt just a prety face.
i recon she knows more than most of the blokes there. hahah she has a GQ patrol thats all bombed out for competative rock climbing . witch she built and drives herself (and wins ) its normaly parked out the front.

i was pricing em up from lowrange offroad. aswell they want pluss $800 shipping not worth it if ur just buying one locker but if ur gona buy both and a decent compressor and a few other bits i recon u could save a few dollars.

This what i payed
2x rear lockers $960 each
$235 for high output compressor
$300 each center to be fitted with locker and new carrier, pinion bearings and seals
Extra $235 for cromos axles

So that's $2990 total

i just got a front air locker for my cruiser from china for $650 including shipping and a compressor!!! its not an arb, but for the amount of times ill use it, it will do. will be here on friday.

I got quoted $1895 for a RD88 fitted, with the small compressor, or $1600 fitted for the RD88 with no compressor.

the thing is you need to be a realist.

if you have fuck all money and belive you can live with a couple of auto locker quirks they do exactly as they advertise they lock your diff and do it really well. yes they can bang and clunk and if you drive like a tool on the road give you a fright every so often but its a trade off.

if you shit money, and are happy to throw more money in lockers and compressors at your suzuki than the vehicle is worth, get an air locker or even two.
they are the ducks nutts and you won't regret having them.
Do they give you better drive in the hard spots than auto lockers? NO.
Are they easier than auto lockers to live with ? YES unlocked is just like your car is now

chinese air lockers are a copy of the ARB and yes the price is right.
Would I put one in a road going daily driver ? not until some other sucker did first.

they may wear great and have not issues, BUT they may just wearout and fuck your diffs

they all will lock your diffs , just some will hurt your wallet more

personally if your hard up for cash I would auto lock the rear and save for a air locking front, you would be suprised where a rear locked car will go

I paid $1100 for two second hand arb air lockers and a small comp, they come up from time to time if you wait

My car isn't daily driven so I am happy to run a mini spool in the rear, but I wouldn't run anything except open or airlocked front. I don't like auto lockers in the front for descending.

opposite lock up here use them in their comp car and havent broken one yet. so i reckon ill do well to break it!!

agghh i wrote that at early this morning. it was ment to say. $800 pluss shipping. but i origionaly wrote i wrong and went back and edited the post adding the word pluss. it was just on the wronmg side of the $800

LOL, I'm seriously considering twin air locking my $355 LJ80 at the moment!
Half the value in this case, is proving it can be done though
