hi guys. my sierra has a 1.6 vitara motor in it. now ive hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail and when the fuel system is fully pressurized the gauge spins right around (over 15psi). when i drive it normally its fine but when i try floor it it boggs in and is real doughy. i think its getting to much fuel when i put my foot down. just wondering what the fuel pressure should be on idle. cheers
You're using the wrong fuel pressure guage - EFI motors run with a lot more than 15 psi - going from memory, I'd say you're looking for close to 40 psi at idle.
The G16B in the 1.6 GV is 29.8~37 psi at idle, 35/6~42.7 psi with fuel pump operating and engine stopped.
I seem to remember from some of your other posts that you are running an aftermarket ECU on your g16? That being the case my guess is your acceleration enrichment needs tuning.
