Well I've run into big problems, that only I could blame myself for
I'm at the stage of filling the forms out to be sent away for approval
The problem is I went all out with out thinking, like usual
My car isn't standard far from standard
Pretty much highly modified

Okay on forms I got to tick either standard or modified
I don't want to lie, but I reckon it won't be approved

Suzuki Sierra

Tyres: are not standard (30's)
Steering: not standard(powersteering)
Sus: lifted springs(40mm)
Rims: not standard(15x7" 0 offset)
brakes: rear modified
Axles: not standard
Track: not sure
Wheelbase: maby standard
Transmission: standard asides reduction gears
Engine: from donor car(sierra engine)

Can't take body lift out cause I've got transfercase lift and front bar been mod for BL
Car isn't registed so I can't put down any registration numbers

my rwc guy would like me to get my body lift approved first before he does a
Rwc

So what do I do. Only thing I can think of is sweet talk the rwc guy into giving me a rwc and I will try get my body lifted approved straigh away after it

Bodylifts I believe they send you approval to do it then you book in to be inspected later, maybe if you get the approval to proceed the RWC might look the other way

Your tyres arent legal either, dont have them on for any inspection

sounds like all pretty standard to me?

it's probably all rough and dodgy looking, but sounds standard.

PS. apart from tyre size as mentioned, but who would know about any other bits?

I've got standard tyres and rims to go on if need to be
Nothing is dogey the last time I checked
The rwc guy will pass me on what I have now, he just wanted me to get the bodily lifted approved first, but I'm just worried that the BL won't get approved beacause I won't be ticking many standard boxes on the form

Plus I can't put down any registration numbers on the forms because it's not registed

make sure every thing that can be mod plated, is plated.

put your standard wheels on.

as long as your car is plated and legal, they shouldnt refuse your body lift.

Of this list
Tyres, fit standard so list as standard
powersteer youll need a modplate and DOT should be ok with it
suspension, legal amount of lift
rims, allowable size and offset
brakes, youll need a modplate
axles, you have WT diffs? probably could not tell em or get a mod plate
Track is changed and may get you on a technicality there as I dunno how you get that approved
trans, standard, gears dont count
engine, standard

If its all plated I doubt DOT will care, or jstu take the bodylift out for now?

I've got 2inch lift on my transfercase so taking body lift out wont work unless I cut my floor

I've got wt diffs with nt spacing
I doubt dot will relise my track with is a bit wider
I could be surprised though . They might pick up on it



I relise I've got to get my rear dics nd power steering mod plate
But was gonna try get away with the axle swap

I'll see if my rwc person can give me rwc like it is now nd I'll go get my mod plates. It would be much easier then trailing it all over the place
But I guess it doesn't work like that

put WT flares on and it will jsut look like a WT, doubt they would know it wasnt stock

then i would need shitty rubber extension cause wt flares arnt wide enough

yes they will be wide enough cause you will have standard tyres on it remember.

Okay rwc guy said he won't do it unless I have all mod plates and my body lift approved

So stock tyres are going on and I'll send it to a mod plater when I get it going, and send these forms

Continuing with the theme, how do you check if your body lift is approved without bringing it to the attention of DOT if it turns out not to be?

EDIT: I bought the car with the body lift already installed, it came with rego and RWC e.t.c.

U would have forms which should of came with the car
They should of kept it in the glovebox incase you get pulled over by dot or the cops
You just show them the paper

maybe a revs check, this one .. its a little more then the standard revs check.. it costs $45 ?? it shows every time there has been a change of rego, mod plate, or if it has been written off.. did one when i purchased them jimny and it showed evertime the rego was changed and how many klms it had done.
