We would need heaps more info on Mod Plates Etc. Reco motor is someone in the back yard threw some rings in it to stop it using oil. Using as a DD or a trailer queen.

If your planning on rego in QLD, you cant legally. Does it have any reduction done? What type of steering? Whats been done for tailshaft lengths? If its been done right it will bump the price up alot.

Is this a track only car? Cause you won't get it registered in QLD with SPOA (... dejavu)

What's it worth? I personally wouldn't pay more than $3k for a track-only zook like this one unless it was pretty special... (ie: what other mods she have?)

From my experience.

You need to do a shit load of homework first.

I bought a tray back SJ40 about 4 months ago now.

It began out with a corolla 3K engine, not knowing a thing about engineering etc, I bought it.

Still not knowing it needed to be engineered I took it for a blue slip, failed due to no engineers cert. Took it to an engineer and he was like "Nah, can't do it because of emission laws".

So I am all like fruck this!!! But eventually I got it sorted, was just a heap of rooting around here and there. So maybe go talk to an engineer first. Or just look for a registered one...

These will be big issues then. Stock steering wont work with a SPOA setup. And if its not mod plated already, it wont happen. Not in QLD anyway. Dont get caught out and be left with something you cant use.

about $3.50 in queensland cause it is NOT LEGAL in the sunshine state in any way shape or form

Unless you get a engineers certificate from a QLD engineer with the mod plates fitted to the car for every mod

So basically I would pay $500 cause it would a fun toy for playing with but would never be a daily driver for me.
