Hey all,

Any advise to where i should get one from and where/how to mount it? Im thinking of getting a kit from frozenboost.

This cooler in particular:

Photo shows a larger one but the one im looking at measures 11"x9"x3.5"

I was going to mount it above the engine as i dont have much inner guards left.

I was thinking nice short run between intake manifold then straight to turbo.

Any opinions or recommendations?

I realise it will get a little warm there but i cant see it making too much difference.

Here is my engine bay. I dont have the intake manifold on in photo. Its still missing in action.

top mount coolers suffer badly from heat soak compared to a normal front mount, use a wrx sti one with a water mist over it if u must go top mount.
or spend $200 on a cheap ebay front mount like u should.

I don't think you have read his post correctly. Its a water to air IC. Placing itover the engine or exhaustwill have little effect on the IC's ability to remove heat from the charge air, as water takes on ambient heat far slower than air does. They also work better at slow speeds.

caberramav: what intake mani do you have? Vitara or Baleno?

I should clarify a few things:

This is a comp truck and a rock crawler. It has a top speed of about 10km/h with a headwind.

The intake manifold is a Vitara one. I dont have it for measurements because it is at the mechanics house.

And like Fatzook mentioned it is a water/air setup im interested in. A air intercooler would be useless in this application.

I guess im asking if you thing the one im choosing is a good chioce and will it mount well in the position im mentioning.

How much room is there between engine and bonnet? Will you just hack the bonnet to suit?

Just fit it over the exhaust side. This will help keep your IC plumbing short, and make it easier to find space. If you are concerned about heat, get your turbo manifold and dump pipe HPC'd, and throw a bag on the turbo. Thats as good as you can hope for

Sounds like a good plan. I cant see heat being an issue.
