I bout one of the jaycar air fuel meters for my 02 GV, just wondering which o2 sensor to hook it up to or is there another output or something.

Most hook into the O2 sensor at the manifold.

Jaycar ones are no different. Just straight to the o2 sensor. There was some talk these kits work better with a hot wire sensor, but it worked fine for me on a single wire..

Why do you need an AFR gauge?
Narrow band (using the standard gauge) will be next to useless.

gv's have 2 o2 sensors, that's what i was getting at.

Put a random number generator on your dash. They are pointless. Wideband AFR's are reasonably priced and at least you'll get meaningful data from a wideband gauge.

The thing is you don't need an AFR unless your car is heavily tuned and you are using it for on the fly troubleshooting, which would only be if something happened to screw up the tuning of the EFI.

AFR's are only required during the tuning phase of an engine. Once it's tuned, there's no requirement.

I'll add that the Jaycar kit might be quite useful for someone playing around with a carby engine, where you really have no idea of how it's fuelling.

If its a V6 hook it to the passangers sensor on the manifold. The drivers will give you strange readings when the EGR opens. The ecu is programed to recognise the drivers O2 sensor wave length change as the valve opens but will give you some strange readings if you were to hook to it to the gauge.
