there like a moto tyre for a car haha has awesome side bitters that grip ruts and the tread is reall meaty, best size to get for a sierra 235 75r 15 and put them on a 6 inch rim, tyre companys will reccomend a 6.5 inch rim but it fits tighter so u dont run the risk of blowwing a bead often

thanks for the info mate , i was thinking 31/10.5 /r15 ive got a 2'' sus and a 2'' body lift so they should fit ... any idea on how many $$$ they are ?

I love mine.
Excellent off road,
and fairly good on road.
Had them on my Sierra for 2 or 3 years, and same ones
now fitted to my Vitara over a year.
Soft compound makes good grip,
but wear a bit faster.
Not a problem with a light weight zook.

ours wore sweet had them for 80,000km on the jimny, every 2nd-3rd weekend on the beach only once in the mud, only replaced 2 tyres still had 60% on rear, fronts wore bad due to balance and alignment and good ol jimny wobbles.

Then put the new on the front of the sierra and 60% on the rear, and spent nearly every weekend at glasshouse and beach.
sold the sierra with front 40% on front and about 20% on rear, gave em hell in the sierra ha ha ha but stood up to the test

I had a set that started to delaminate on a patrol a few years back, we go about 25,000 before they shit themselves , happened over summer.

they seemed to grip pretty well until that, but in my opinion there are far better like bighorns.
they are unbelivably noisey too for a radial muddy , price seemed good though

i'm not to worried about noise now cos Ive just got a new job and i get a work 4b, so she will be only really used for play time

I have found them great for mud and rock, On road they aren't too bad but very noisy, on sand they dig a lot more than BFG muds but nothing a bit lower PSI won't fix. Ran mine at 10PSI for soft sand.

What ever you get, there will always be a time you will wish for bigger.
31's are a common size, so that keeps price lower, and sourcing spares in out back is easier.

Same can be said for the 235/85 x 16's but need 16"rims as well.

31's for sure... you need the diff pumpkin clearance.. remember last time we went for a drive why not get a set of silverstone extremes if it's now your play car?

Looked into getting Silverstones about two weeks ago, and was told that my tyre guy only had certain sizes in stock, because of the current take over. I think it Toyo who are taking them over.

They are a good tyre. But I wouldn't go crazy over them. The main thing seems to be the the rubber compound is a tad on the hard side. I haven't put them on my own vehicle, but I've seen at least 4 or 5 Suzukis that run them, and some of these cars have changed to other tyres, some with a very notable change in performance.

Personally I'd look at a BFG KM2, Maxxis; or if they are still available the Firestone Destinations like I run (but I think they stopped selling them in Australia ).

comparing a sierra, to how a patrol wore the tyre are not even in the same league, 3 tons of patrol to 1ton of sierra, so tripple the amount of wear on the tyres to a sierra so 25,000km x3 = 75.000km lol

also we run 235/75/r15 good clearance but of course 31 would be better if u can run them

I have never seen any one say 31 x 10.5 had not enough ground pressure. what a load of twaddle!!

thats like saying my 33.105 bfgs dont have enough ground pressure and and one that has seen it run knows thats not its problem lol

31s are a great size. but not in coragias personally grab some thing else for the same money. they arent that great

Get some some tall and skinny 235/85s or 7.50 16s.

I've measured some Federal Couragia 31x10.5s, plus some Goodyear MTRs, and they were no more than 30 inches tall.

The 7.50 16s I run are right on 32 inches tall and don't scrub (have a 2 inch body lift, std suspension, hammered seams and cut off the bumper bar mount). They do hit the front springs at full steering lock but the rims I have are 0 offset.

yes I realise that, but thats not the point I was making. The reference was to quailty of the tyre.

and if your going to use this therory a cooper atr that lasts 80-90,000 on a 3 ton can should last 270,000 km on your sierra(Id like to see that)

In some conditions, 31 10.5's don't have enough ground pressure.

In some conditions, I wish my 9/34 swampers had higher ground pressure, and they have miles more ground pressure than a 31 10.5 radial MT
