Set our lean best idle. if it still will not idle, clean the idle jets. Set your float level and be happy.

As long as you are not going up hill it should do ok for you.

One of the major issues for all the Weber hate is simply they haven't been able to get one set up correctly. Just because a mechanic/carby guy can't set it up properly doesn't necessarily mean the carby is a POS. It's hard these days to find a descent bloke that actually knows what he's talking about. Take my local carby/dyno tuners at home for example "You'll never get that thing running on a 1300 it's wayy too big!" Well what the hell is it doing idling smoothly outside..........

I'm 100% sure that if your stock carb was poorly setup by a shop you would be blaming that carb also.

The Weber is one of the most easiest things to tune if you know what your doing. It is a simple carb and once set up properly it works well. If big angle's are not your thing this is a simple carb upgrade for you.

Economy wise, on the highway, my HT 1300 easily cruised at 100KPH and returned around 11k/L. This is on par with the stock carb! Of course it will drink more overall if you keep your foot in it all the time as more power = more fuel.

And that is the only major problem I had aside from altitude. The thing flat ripped on road. I could really make it scream. Seriously I had a few guys with 1.3's say "my zook doesn't move like this..", or "I want one". There were not singing the same tune once we hut the trails.

Unfortunately off road it was a flooding starving smoke belching dog.

agreed... but a stock carb you know that if you cant get it to work its your fault. People didnt buy 0km Suzuki's and say 'Hey this carb is a POS'

No they started to complain years later after everything is worn out, their timing was perharps suss, gunked up cooling systems and turning a few extra kilos of weight on each wheel.

My carb idles at 1000rpm when warm, gives me 10L to 100km with the Hubs locked and is a 270 000km engine on a stock car.

Suzuki's stuff if maintained doesn't tend to break, we just neglegiently kill them.

I've had my fair play with the stock carb naturally before I moved on to the Weber. Once played with and properly setup the stock carb worked brilliant! But I wanted more, so I progressed to the Weber. On-road was a massive change and made my 1700km drives home nice. :D

Hey Santos, just wondering, have you ever been in or driven a Weber zuk that was set up well?
