Hey guys
Just a quick question. Trying to fault find why the 1.6 isn't starting.
I think it may be a fuel issue.
If I have my fuel feed line connected to fuel rail, and disconnect the fuel return line and have the fuel pump going (wired to battery for this scenario) should I be getting fuel coming out the return line or will that only happen if the car is cranking?

i've disconnected the fuel return line, and either cranking or not, there is no fuel coming out..
Would this mean my line is clogged, or could it related to a dicky CAS?

also come to think of it,
I am using a generic repco lifter pump, maybe that isn't giving enough fuel pressure to properly feel the injectors and open the fuel reg?
Just a thought.

you need a high pressure fuel pump for a 1.6 efi

x2 you need a pump that can supply greater than the working pressure of the injectors, which is around 3 bar

Damn, I hope this is the issue..
I'll hook up the surge tank and the bosch and give it a go tonight.
If this fixes it....... what a waste of 4 days fault finding (lol)

Most people use
a lift pump, > serrge tank > the equivalent of a VL commodore pump.

Yeah i have that setup in the shed Tanshi, just haven't connected it yet due to wanting to make sure everything was working properly.. didn't even think about the fuel pressure requirements, just assumed fuel to the rail would be enough regardless of pressure/flow.
