I have started work on reconditioning the motor in my next project. It is the injected 16 valve vit motor. The head has gone to the machine shop and checks out O.K. The cam has gone to the grinders and he has said if he does a grind to get some more torque out of it I will need to get more fuel in by way of lager injectors.

Does any one know of the availability of larger injectors for this motor?
I am also going increase comp. ratio to compliment the cam.

sounds like bullshit to me unless the injectors are at 100% duty cycle from the factory you have some headroom unless going forced induction.
the baleno guys use my03 wrx injectors as a direct fit replacement but you will need about 1k for management ecu and more to install and tune it if u want to swap injectors.
in my opinion your standard ones will be able to cope with your proposed mods, get it dynoed and the a/f ratio's checked when its completed to be 100% certain

Thanks for that any saving on parts is a bonus!
All of my engine work has been on carby engines with no computers. Will the standard ECU be OK with mods the I plan to do? I don't know much about engine computers, (in fact they scare the shit out of me) so any advice from you techno wizzes would be much appreciated. My son is very clued up on them but he thinks I am a bit old to learn and doesn't have a lot of patience. It is good to come up with some knowledge from time to time to piss him off!

Is it the 2l or 1.6?
I've just finished a bunch of datalogging on my j20a and found the injectors to be at about 66% duty cycle Max.

Your problem isn't going to be replacing injectors, its the tuning of the computer. If its the same as mine j20a they have a mass airflow sensor so may well be able to compensate for the small increase you're talking about.

If it was me, I'd just get the grind you want, and chuck it together and put it on a dyno for a quick run. If you do need to recall you computer there's cheaper options like the piggy back ECUs. However your probably going to be fine.
