You'll need to do some heavy guard trimming and cover the protruding tyre with a flare extension, but its well worth the effort IMO.
Start hacking!
EDIT: you'll get away with 7" rims for 31's.

you're gonna need do do a guard chop to fit the 31's so it won't be an issue.
I went 15x7 -38 offset on mine though - theory being the skinnier rim will hold the tyre on better, and i still have the width of a reasonable offset 15x8.

Yes the PCD is the same. But the offsets are not. What are the specs on the rims?

Thats a good offset, but it will give you a pretty wide scrub raius. So you will have to trim around the base of the firewall, the top of the wheel arch, and the bumper.

i just did the 31's on a jimny, but i used a 15x7 -12 rim. i was going to go for a 15x8 -28 rims off a mate but i was worried about radius scrub. the 15x7 worked out perfect ( yet to go out wheeling but should be sweet) and only cost me $59 a rim from bob jane.
