Doesn't it have to go through a filter first? I am just using the stock airbox...

what sort of weber are you using?
use the standard airbox or put a pod filter on the end of the snorkel

what you will find is webers are very sensitive to airflow and snorkels have a very bad effect on this. what you need to do is find an airbox adaptor that allows you to get air directly down onto the throats.

I ran a snorkel with my weber and had to tune it differently .

Im using a 32/36 with a redline filter on the top. yea wat i was thinkin was put the airbox back somehow and run a factory kit

depends on what filter your are running on top of the snorkel.

if its a cheap pod thats paper or mesh filter i'd be worried but if its something like k&n or uni filter that can be oiled and washed you'll be fine.

If wanting to keep an airfilter on top of the carby, you could always go something like a Lada Niva Air Filter and housing.

Apart from the little allow spacer on top, which is only needed so it has a flat surface to bolt to, it will bolt directly onto a 32/36 DGV Weber. The carby also sits on the same side with the intake coming from the drivers side guard so connecting it to a snorkel won't be an issue. The intake size is 2 1/2" at the housing itself, so not to hard to adapt it up to 3" for a typical snorkel size.

If people are wondering why i know this, i have stuck a 32/36DGV Weber on a Niva before, reused the stock filter and built a snorkel for the same vehicle. Unsure if clearances will be an issue, but might be something to check out, should be able to pick up a complete Niva for a carton, so not going to be costly. You could probably look at other vehicles that came with the same or similiar carbys from standard (i.e Ford Escorts/Cortinas etc), it's just a Niva springs to my mind.
