Finally I've gotten my arse into gear and got some pics of the long range tank I have. I bought it to fit my lwb, but cause I have the load coils at the back, the bloody take it about 20mm to wide (its a snug fit between the chassy rails. It was going to take alot of mod work to the tank to make it fit so i thought i'd just flog it. I don't know the exact capacity, but its alot bigger then standard Weight is about 22kgish so it is freightable.
Stupid photobucket keeps inverting this pic,
It says SR 02 and 10432.
This is the back view, what you see from behind the car
Side profile view showing the filler
This is the front mounts. You need to hold the tank up to teh angle brace on the cross member and mark and drill out some holes. The bolts that came with the tank had a bit of coat hanger wire welded ontop of them so you could feed the buggers into the hole and bolt up. I was going to drop the bolt in and tack weld the top of the thread, so I could torque it up nice and tight.
Price is $400 O.N.O
Pickup avalible from Ferntree Gully or can ship. I'll get dimensions to go with the weight so you can get some prices if your interested in shipping.

Dimensions are 74cm x 30cm x35cm and the fill pipe sticks out another 5 cm.

This is the freight company I have used before. FYI, its about $120 to send to tassy. But if you are will to wait till just after christmas, I can strap it to my roof and bring it over on the boat for a slab Or find someone who is going over sooner and give them a slab for bringing it over

Looks like it needs a 2: body lift to fit.

It was going to fit my non lifted lwb fine, no need for lift at all. I might of had to modify the rear mounts but it was months and months ago that I tried to fit it so I can't remember. The only reason its not fitted to mine is cause of the load coils that are 100mm dia so they poke inside the chassy 25mm (1/2 the 50 wider then the chassy). This means cause of the minimal tolerences between the chassy and tank, I would have to cut almost 50mm off the sides of the tank.
Hey ajsr, you recon you could cut the bastard down and weld the sides back on if no one buys it? I'd love to have more fuel, imagine that, 83 liters of gas and about 80 liters of petrol, jesus thats a damn lotta driving between drinks

I could cut it down, although you would likely be better making a new one that fits right

Umm, I think I sent one back to you?? Might of been missed as I could of been looking thru the bottom of a beer bottle
Air-Road quoted price was $122 to your door. If your interested in waiting till new years, I can bring it over on the boat strapped to my roof as I'm going over your way with the wife for a camping trip. That way it will only cost you a slab of some nice cold beer but a 4 month wait!!
If it was a different pm, send it thru again!!
Cheers
Dave

I dont think it will. The tank is mounted between the chassy rails. The 2 angle mounts go hard up to the crossmember. On the lwb, there is about 300mm between the end of the chassy and the crossmember, this is where the tank sits. on the swb's i have seen, the cross member is right at the back, with no chassy hanging out the back, i will go home and take a look at my parts swb to confirm this. I'm sure that it wouldn't be hard to make it fit, depends on how good you are at welding

im pretty sure it should fit, but you would want a tank guard. the one in my lwb is for a swb and fits fine, also those familiar with "long ranger" tanks would know that they only make a tank to fit a swb, and only advertise their tank to fit a swb, but it fits a lwb fine, i had to chop my exhaust and get a new one made higher for it to fit.

one way to check if it will fit, would be to get the measurements and either measure and imagine under your truck, or make a mock one to size out of cardboard and see if it will fit.
