dunno mate - i've seen a few navara's mildly modified offroad now and i have to say, if i was looking for a new work ute capable offroad, i'd be choosing a navara. i've seen them drive lines that prados and hiluxes couldnt make... theyre pretty decent IMO.

I know a few people with D40's that are 12 months old or less and they spend more time at Nissan than in their own carport.

I have previously owned a Navara and it was quite capable for what it was.

The newer ones don't seem to be as good overall, although they have a much better engine. For the $$ I think they could be better.

That said they're all still better than the new hilux I have at work.

That's right, I've seen somewhere a Suzuki your restoring and your bolting 20's on it. I can't remember where I've seen it but, if you don't mind posting a picture or a link of it, I may reconsider my previous post. I can't remember whether I saw the final product either. From memory, it wasn't like, 'oh fuck, no no no', it was more like, 'ok, that could work'.

I think that 20's CAN look good. But as a rule they don't always do so. I'm also running 33's, which most of the junk rolling on 20's have super low profile H/T's.

$wd's tend to look shit with 20's and low profile rubber because they have too much room in the wheel arches.

Yes Fatzook, it's the ratio of rubber/rim/arch that needs to be right. Take for example those F trucks, because the vehicles are large 31's don't cut it. I reckon they need 33's or larger.
Looking at your suzuki ute though, I think it will look pretty smart when it's all finished. I remember seeing it now and admiring the work.

Well i'm working on the fact that there is only 25mm less side wall height on my 33/20 combo than the standard 205/70 R15's, so IMO ( untested ) they should be no worse than a stock sierra

The alloys are fine - just don't mention the unsprung weight of said 20's with tyres. Lucky your doing diff/axle/bearing upgrades.
