yes its alright, but the 1.6 conversion is cheap and easy. also the fuel economy isnt as good as a efi.
but it is a more simple engine to diagnose and tune.

Just curious, whats the difference in Fuel consumption on a 1300 with bigger carbie, exhaust and all those other little mods, VS a Bog stock 1600 16V. also whats the difference Power wise...

well if a somene could post up there 1.6 results.
with my bigger betterer carb and exhaust, im getting about 7km/litre (31's stock gearing)
when i throw the efi in i expect a lot better.

depends hooking up the vss makes a difference to consumption but i have found consumption the same with the 16v 1.6 vs the 1.3 carb
oh and think you'll find a fresh 1.3 will smoke a 1.6 8v in a sierra

I did my 1.6 8v up a while ago and it had more torque then my mates stock 1.6 efi engine
I blew it up though but resincely rebuilt it again but won't have not as much compression then the old one
I know it's not a 1.3 but considering I had more torque then a efi engine kinda makes you wonder.
Will be geting it dyno tuned and I will put up the spec to show how much power increase with a set of extractors and 2" exhaust system, shaved and bored out 40thou to a engine does.

ive just got the engine completely rebuilt, i would be pissed if i got worse than 10km/litre.
some gears will help.

7km/L = 14.2L/100km. Thats shit house!

My G16A SPI 8v ute did 7-9L/100km

Same ute with G16B did 9-10L/100km

And my J20 vitara does 11-13L/100km.

G13a with weber carb, extractors/exhaust , 235's, 1L tcase ~12km/L @ a true 100 on the highway

G16b EFI, extractors/exhaust, 30's, 4.9:1 tcase ~10-11km/L @ a true 100 on highway

i want my car to be fast to. but all my webber dose is make driving more expensive, and me pissed of coz it actualy needs to warm up!.

is the 1,6 realy worth the coin and effort. a whole 300cc dose it make that bigger difference?

Not if its owned by my old boss -7 degrees in winter. 5am. Jump in the sierra. Foot to the boards as the key is cranked. Then just rev the arse out of it until its "warmed up"

My carb used to be a dog, so you have to warm it up. Once i went Efi you can still feel it lagging but still screamed And my subahroo you can tell when you didnt warm it up, cos it holds the gears (4spauto) way too long. Its pretty bad for itself actually..
