And yet another tyre thread. :lol:

I'm due for another set of muddies and after seeing all the reviews about the Bighorns, and personal experience with the AT's I'll most probably be getting another set of Maxxis.

Now, I don't like the new style Bighorns but I notice that the Buckshot are similar to the old horns.

What to do, which to get?

Whatcha reckon?

Bighorns have the sidewall tread. Where as, bucks don't (last set I bought)

Buckshots aren't as nice on road either.

i have the new 764 bighorns and they brilliant tyres in all conditions

both are a great tyre i had the buckshots for 4 yrs now and still going there on a mates pajero

the bighorns are a way better tyre but i have the old style so i dont know if the new ones are good or bad

I couldn't be happier with my buckshots, cost me $300 on rims

. My choice would be the bighorn though. Nothing wrong with the buckshots just the bighorns have a bit more open thread and they have some side wall tread.

Go the bighorns over radial treps, obviously in the bigger sizes a lot more comes into play..

you can still get the 762 bighorns, i just got a set 2 weeks ago. but yeah go bighorn's

I did a bit of ringing around and got a few prices, and fark me some places have some serious mark up on them.

Cheapest I found turned out to be Bob Jane for $230 ea, the most expensive were Beaurepairs for $310 although that includes fitting.

But I found out that one of the ladies I work with, her husband is mates with a manager of a tyre shop and I might be able to get a very decent discount.

I believe that buckshots are not being imported anymore due to the fact that Bighorns outsell them 10-1

the new bighorns are better but more expensive.

I use Trepedores on the Zuke which I can't fault

I have been known to be wrong before.
This is what I have been told by the industry
as they import more of the new Bighorns they will phase out the buckshots
May also be remaining stock.
We shall see. Time will tell
