Hi all, new to the Forum. wanting to buy my dream home in Tassie soon so my big D40 has been advertised.

that aside, I am wishing to down/upgrade to a well sorted zook but for that to happen I need to findout if I could change the back seat to somthing slightly longer, fit an extra lap sash and get it engineered as a 5 seater.

3 nippers and the wifey means for us all to pack in would mean I would be short a seat. has anyone seen this mod done.

at the moment the kids a little so they would fit in theory.

Sounds like it. I'd like to see a picture of 3kids in the back of a sierra.

If the kids are young enough to need kid seats then they won't fit, if they're older than that then they still won't fit. Either way the seat is just too small for 3 across. I doubt you'd get anyone to certify/engineer it either

One of the guys in the club is a motor trimer and has got engineered a seat that he made for his lwb sierra.
It holds his 3 young kids with out child seats
It has harneses for each child
It's pretty cool but I think he modded the wheel arches a fair bit to get the room
Don't dismiss a vitara they can be made just as capable as a sierra but be 10 times better on the road

lwb came with a 6 seat option. ran two seats down the sides of tray. Not sure if it was a legal option here but I know sukuki did make it with 6 seats.

Best option would be leave wife at home, and kids take dog and have fun with friends.

But you could just leave her at home or make the kids draw straws and see which one gets to play "lets hid in this cupboard for two days"

OR best case scenerio is by her a sierra too and take two cars. :-)
