hi i have a jimny with 40mm ome lift and wanting to put 50mm spacers aswell.

apart from the extended brake lines is there anyting else i would need to achieve this?

help appreciated!

You will need adjustable panhard rods and caster correction bushes. You will also need to check your shock lenghts so they aren't topping out all the time.

Why do you need 90mm of lift?

I would have thought you would also need bumpstop spacing too- the springs won't take kindly to being over compressed by 50mm too.

All up, it's quite a lot of work to go from a functional car that drives well at 40mm of lift to a car that drives well with 90mm of lift.

We've had few jimnys in the club, some ran up to 100mm of spring lift, and none ended up with over about 50mm.

PS, if you aren't running longer shocks, you won't need longer brake lines, and if you are running longer shocks, you will need bumpstop spacing to fit them.

What springs were they steve?

Also if you use the standard front springs and put them in the rear i read it gives you 75mm of lift, the only issue i can think of with doing that is they would be way too soft, but they would flex well.

Snake (?) actually, maybe they were 5". Anyway, they were dumb. They are in my shed somewhere.

IIRC, jimmy springs are the same diameter as vitara rears. There's lots of spring choice, it's just that jimny's work better with less lift rather than more. ( true of all cars)

Must of been custom springs?

Cus the only sizes i know of are, 25, 40, 50, 60, 75, 80 and 110mm springs. I don't they they would have been 5" springs cus the spring starts rubbing the shock, i think or the shock rubs on the panhard rod, can't remember which way, but custom trailing arms would of have to be used if you use a 5" lifted spring from what i have read. Also i think the jimny works rather well with lift, my 80mm tough dog lift flexs pretty good, it did better on a flex ramp than a SPOA sierra, on lux leafs and 31's (aliens zook). That was with factory brake lines to stopping from flexing

might just put 30mm ones on the front to stop the scrubbing , and level up the car.
