just a quick question about my snorkel

this snorkel on a different car now but set up the exact same.

its been raining for days here and i was wondering would water get in the snorkel and what do people do to stop it going to air box?

The airbox usually has a drain hole in the bottom for water to get out. I doubt you'd get much if any in there anyway

I can't see any problem if a little moisture got past the air filter anyway.

most of the snorkel heads are designed with rain channels, the minimal amount that gets past there would dissipate inside the snorkel while travelling to the airbox, from there it's most likely just moisture in the air.

a drain hole in the bottom of the air box can not only let water out, but it can let water in. i have filled mine on my cruiser and sealed my airbox and snorkel with goo.

landcruser snorkels are not meant to keep water out, like most stuff on landcrusers
they are just bling so city people can pretend that they are bushies. :wink:

you'd have to be under water for an immensely long time for water to fill the airbox through the 1mm drain hole... by that stage you'd have turned off the motor and been towed out anyway =)

hence why i had to goop mine up. i had water over the bonnet last wet season trying to drop the missus to work!!
