hello fellow auszookers.

i have a question.

i did a 2" shackle extension to my sierra and removed the sway bar.

then just for fun, drove it up some ramps in opposite corners.(something i couldn't do with the sway bar on) i'm sure some of you have tried that, don't tell me you haven't.

any way, it got to the point where the 2 wheels not on the ramps were in the air and i could rock the car from side to side, all good.

took a photo "as you do" then noticed its actually twisting the whole car and pulled lines in my rag top, and i couldn't open the passenger door.

i haven't noticed this on my GF's sierra or my old sierra from years ago.

so my question is, is this normal to twist that much or is my car gonna fall apart

All 4x4s will twist a bit - The old short wheelbase hiluxes used to twist about 6 inches in the middle...

Did your door open ok afterwards? If not then there is a problem.

ive done this several times in mine and before the BL it twisted a bit but since doing the BL and putting a steel rollbar in, it hardly moves.

Check all ya body mounts are tight

yeah it opened ok after, i just haven't seen 1 do that before, thought perhaps my chassie was weak or something?

It is a suzuki - light weight, nimble, and maybe a little weak...

even at half flex, i cant shut my rear door. it drops HEAPS.. on full flex, its waaay off from lining up!

I have a solution. or a couple.

* Dont flex up your suzy( Although its impossible to do cos i do it on everything i see. Except cars although its tempting )

* Take your doors off

* Don't open your door. Go "zooks of hazard" style

* Take your roof off

i say take doors off. mod already done, just need half doors..

It's totally normal. My old LWB flexed a ton when crossed up like that!

Don't stress it, just don't try closing the door until you're back on flat ground. That's another tick in the box for running doorless

Ever thought that leaving the doors on, you may save twisting and cause problems elsewhere in the future.
4WDing is all about trade offs, you do mods and it loads somethig else up and stresses other parts, you fix that problem and then it loads up somewhere else.
