I have just purchased a Suzuki X-90 97 model auto in black that's not running
I'm planning to fix it before I do anything,
What I would like to know is would there be intrest for it in parts ? I will sell the engine (1.6 16v non coilpack) with a loom to suit a Sierra ready to go
It has air con and power steering that I could sell complete.
Is there any intrest in the panels ? The car looks to be very straight and has just had a respray (albeit not a good one)
The interior is in great condition and it also comes with alloys and a nudge bar.
I will pick the car up on Friday and commence getting it running to evaluate the condition of everything.
Watch this space....

Yeah that's the one, right place, right time.
Power steer $350 complete
Once I get the engine running I'll put a price to it once I know the condition.
Will have it running by next week

Here's the car in question.

The paint job is crap, it had just been resprayed but it was a poor job due to the many paint runs.
I found out the reason for the engine not running, the harmonic ballancer had separated and worked it's way into the timing cover, some of the plastic from the timing cover got between the timing belt and crank pulley causing the timing belt to jump approx 7 teeth thus the reason it wouldn't start!!
The timing belt had been half eaten away too, I corrected the timing and wound the engine over for damage and checked TDC was still correct (to count out a slipped crank keyway) all was good there so wacked the plugs into it and it fired first go !! Woohoo
It had heaps of grunt to turn the tires so I warmed it up and checked the compression.
It had 175psi in each cylinder spot on, I did a leak down test on the engine and each cylinder had less than 10% in each cylinder.
So the engine is in excellent condition.
So that leaves me with a conundrum, do I keep it and register it as a cheap runabout or do I part it out ?
At this point I'm thinking of fixing it and keeping it as I had to give back my company car when I changed jobs and would be a cheap 2nd car and in it's current condition (with minor repairs) it would pass a roady with flying colours, so flog around in it for 6-12 months then sell it as a registered car and if the markets dead I'll stripp it for parts then.

As much as I dislike X-90's, that one is still too good to wreck out. If you gave it a tidy up you could sell it for $4-5K.

Ive got it running like a dream at the moment i fitted a new timing belt, new timing belt cover, s/h front pulley and new fan belts and set the ignition timing and it runs like a dream.
It looked like the last owner punched the steering wheel in frustration and buggered it so i replaced the steering wheel also.
the car has just been painted but its a poor paint job (by my standards) as it has a few paint runs, if it was rubbed back and polished it would look tops.
I'd be happy with $2000 if i could get that for it.
