Has anyone received a reply from Origin Japan with regard to buying parts? (they still have stuff on yahoo auctions japan so appears their still trading after the earthquake).

Have also tried contacting the people that are importing parts locally but their not too interested in replying to Suzuki parts - very frustrating!!

LOL the translation worked...sorta ;)

Anyways I gave them a ring and they dont have a price list they could email me, but if you give me an idea of what products your interested in I can get a quote shipped to Aus from them.

They also do sell on Yahoo Auction (similar to Ebay) and quite often their prices are cheaper there...
After this earthquake/tsunami shipping could well be slow

Cheers

i got a call from Origin South Australia just a few mins ago...

Roof is $300AU plus shipping (approx $100 to me in WA). So $400.

I'm buying one.

Forgot to add - theyre doing the order today / tomorrow so if you are actually keen to buy one you need to call them: 08 8371 4435

$400 au will probably be cheaper than what we can pick them up from here in Japan.

I was quoted 22,000 yen for the roof, and a rough estimate of 12,000 yen for shipping.... in AUD @ todays rate thats $389 AUD plus you have the bank charge for the transfer

If anyone else wants a quote from them here just PM me...

Cheers

I called today and spoke to a chick by the name of Katie. I said a few of us were interested in various parts such as:

C pillars
Window Frames
Grilles
Roof Tops
Fenders

She has informed me that there has been an order put in so far for 5 roof tops and i asked her to see if she can squeeze in some c-pillars also.

She said approx 7 weeks before delivery from Japan to Australia.

She also said that if we organise a few buyers for stuff she can make it somewhat cheaper for all of us.

I told here to get incontact with the site admin and talk about becoming an advertiser?

Sounds pretty good.

Conrad

I've been talking to Origin since Oct last year trying to buy 4 of the 5 spoke wheels. First up, I was dealing with a Mr Hajime. After a delay, He sent me the following reply:

"Sorry for the late response.
It seems Air shipping is quite expensive. I've attached the details below.

==MUDS5 16”x5.5J -20 in Matte Black (4 pieces)==
Total amount include wheels, shipping fee & TAX etc..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MUDS5 16”x5.5J -20 in Matte Black (4 pieces) 4piece -- 37,200JPY (aprox=450AUD)
this is special discount price!
Air shipping fee (include insurance) ------ 34,440 JPY (aprox=417AUD)
International handling fee ------ 3,000 JPY (aprox=37AUD)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total ------ 74,640 JPY (aprox= 904AUD)
* JPY=Japanese YEN

We are now searching for cheaper alternative shipping method (FEDEX, SEA shipping etc..),
but sea shipping take approximately two months (fare is more than a half of price compare to Air shipping)...what do you think?"

For $900 delivered, I said YES, and asked for their bank details (They don't do credit card, only International Wire Transfer).

After not hearing back for a while, I got a reply from a Mr Nishida that Mr Hajime "did retirement" last month.

I replied and said that I was still interested, can I get their bank details.

Again, after a delay, Mr Nishida said that they were trying to get better quotes on shipping (even though I said I wanted to go ahead and buy).
After, even more delays and urging from me, Mr Nishida apologised and said he was in China until 26th Dec. At this point, I still have not had any further replies from anyone at Origin, and can only assume Mr Nishida is in custody in China.

The delay is not really of concern as the AU/JPY exchange rate has inproved from 82 up to 93 since Oct when I first inquired, so the delivered price will now be closer to AU$850. If only I can get them to reply with their bank details!

let us know how you get on, at $1500 i'll be giving them a miss... for now.

i've been reading & some of the drifters are saying that they're not the strongest wheel & quite a few have been broken. but they're pretty rough on wheels considering the loads etc that they put them through.
