yes there is 12 volts at the igniter plug on one wire im just thinking it could be a timing issue with the dizzy i just put constant 12 volts and negative on the coil pack and still no spark

It wont, the ecu & dizzy give it it's neg pulse, the body of the coil does need an earth ( that go's for coil pack's to) but the neg of a coil is the trigger.
put a test light from + to - on the coil & crank, if it flash's, look at timing...
If you get to stuck I may be able to come up monday arvo...

all the welding is done unfortunetly
and brisbane turbo and tuning recon its a wiring issue but they wont say where and i think they know exactly what it is they want me to get it towed to them and they'll get it going but thats going to cost a mint when all i was going to do is to get them to tune it when its running

When you say it sometimes has spark and sometimes it doesn't. Is there a pattern? I.e when its cold it has spark but when its warmer it doesn't?? (Does it lose spark after a couple cranks)

ive just tested all the imputs and outputs on the ecu and i have 12 volts going in and only 1.3 volts coming out and there should be 12 by the book so im starting to think the ecu is ratshit but i need to try to get another standard ecu just to see if im right
all the power going into it is right but whats coming out isnt the fuel drum sitting next to the car and the lighter is lookiing better and better

It's a shame about the distance, otherwise I'd be around with an occiloscope.
So you've got fuel, that pretty much rules out the crank angle sensing (whatever it is on that engine.)
If not overly familiar with the 4AGE setup, and aparently it changed a couple of times over the years. But if you've got a ignitor, have you been able to try another one? Typically, the ECU wont fail, because that's not under any electrical stress, the ignitor on the other hand are the stressed components in the ignition system. That's why they made them easy to replace.
I'm guessing it's a version with coil packs? That pretty much rules out the coils being bad, because typically they fail on an individual cylinder rather than all together.
Really you want an occiliscope to probe around and find out what's happening. Without one it's just a bunch of guessing...

Rent a car with the same engine in it and borrow the ECU.
I've had ECUs repaired before, might be a good option.
Carb-N-Ject in Underwood test and repair them in Brizzy.

double check your ecu earth's, I think there is 3 that are meant to go to the intake manifold, they HAVE to be there & with good connection....

thanks everyone i found out what was wrong apparently these older computers if they loose power for a long time they loose all ther memory and dont know whether they are a 4age or a suzuki 1.3 and i dont have a toyota computer to upload the memory
but they guy also said they are self tought and if i keep persisting it will find out what it is
so i left it on charge overnight and came back and kept trying and it eventually got better and better and now its working fine you hit the key and it goes
im just glad nothing was wrong and its all sorted thanks everyone
 and it goes real hard
