Why would you want to fully weld it?
So you go into water and the cap fills with water and crap and it goes no where.
Mate really not having a go at all but if you do 4 x 1" welds and have 2 or 3 10mm drill holes at the bottom all will be good.

But to answer your question, yes I guess you could fully weld it if you so wanted too but you would have to do it stages as it would get too hot and you risk warping the housing.

I live on in the Caboolture area and work at Brendale. :D

Just saying fully weld water can't go thru metal nothing in nothing rusts

And I know all about warping

Could I grab one after lunch tomorrow?

The rim of the pumpkin is the strongest, most rigid part of the housing. There are multiple surfaces and planes in that area so If you weld the cap fully, with the centre in place, it will not warp.

EDIT. Still no point in welding it fully anyway. It just becomes a shit trap.

The guy just pulled up to pick it up Peter and thought that the guard was about 3mm away from the housing hence why he wanted to fully weld it. Eventho I posted up pictures of it.
Owell I have 1 left for sale till next lot are made.
