So hypothetically speaking if someone (who already has some) were to find an original, but not mint, LJ50, soft top (with top and soft doors) registered and on bartreads, and was offered the purchase of said LJ, what are some prime excuses that hypothetical someone could use to justify such an unnecessary cash outlay to that someone's wife?

Go to the members list(do we have one?), put a 1 in front of of the first pesons name, a 2 in front of the second persons ect then put "will be jealous" after their name.
That's 4024 reasons.
Say it's for this Simpson crossing... Or a Cape York trip or something.

Couple of ideas:
If you don't buy it, Brad will, and he "can't afford it". Therefore you are saving your son from unwanted debt.
LJ50 is much easier to park than a Torana... Cheaper on rego too!
Your having a "mid life crisis", and its cheaper than a motor bike!
You really bought it off ebay for $50 for spare parts; however didn't realise that postage would be so exorbitant on such a small car....
The ad in the trading post said "Lawn mower"...
Say its a male LJ. If you leave it and Annette in the car port together they'll start having babies, soon you'll be able to sell them on, and make your money back! . I have proved its possible to at least bread parts of LJ's.... I found another F8 in the shed the other day

Knew I could rely on you Aaron! More ideas anyone? Actually the Simpson is the reason the hypothetical someone was thinking of it.

it's a religious obligation
if you don't save it and bring it into the fold, some kid will butcher, spring over and roll it.
Then the great LJ god will smite you down with lightning in vengeance for your lack of consideration for one of it's children .
plus everyone will be jallous lots and lots and lots.

Tell her you've bought it as a favour just to hang on to it until that top bloke off AZ, 303Zuke, gets up to Qld to pick it up. Naturally, that day never seems to come around, and if he's not going to come get it, you may as well wheel it, mod it, etc... in the meantime.
Of course, if I happen to hear you have used that excuse, I'll be there on Monday to get it!

Thanks guys, the hypothetical sale isn't a sure thing, not entirely sure why the guy would want to get rid of it, he obviously loves it. He reckoned the steering was pretty loose even though he adjusted the box. Once I showed him the rooted bush in the relay arm and he fixes it, he might not want to let it go.
As for mods, well no way I'd mod anything on it, it even has a straight bumperbar, sills and taillight panel. Anyhow I already have one so modded there's not much LJ50 left.

It's pretty original, by no means mint though. Would be a fair bit lighter than Annette and much better for the Simpson trip. We will of course need a pit crew with a magic toolbag.

Guys, I'm pretty sure he meant 2strokers wife being a "good one" for accepting his slight interest in Suzuki's....
